The contemporary marketing tool set has expanded dramatically with the mainstreaming of digital technologies, bringing social media skills in high demand for marketers and many other careers.
This course focuses on digital technologies and tools that are used in business today to compete for customers in the seismic shift from push to pull marketing. Students will gain an understanding of the key social media channels (including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube), branded communities, blogs and how they fit into B2B and B2C marketing strategies.
The course will further explore how the mobile revolution has unalterably affected marketing and teach fundamentals of online market research. Emphasis is placed on best practices and on conveying an understanding of how social media can be leveraged to create measurable business results. Students will be able to create a basic social media marketing plan and understand how social media can add value to particular job functions and roles.
At the end of this course, you should be able to:
Employ social media platforms for B2C and B2B marketing Understand the benefits and pitfalls of social media Effectively brand yourself, your startup or enterprise on social media Select the right social media platform for each target audience Set up, optimize and manage professional social media accounts Implement social media marketing best practices at work.
