If you are a social media marketer or simply trying to leverage social media for your business, Google is the most important and possibly most demanding platform to learn to use. There are simply so many options and you are able to go deep (seemingly without end).
If you have ever used Google AdWords or Google Trends to find the right keywords, you know how easy it is to get lost in time.
There have been a lot of changes to the Google offerings in the recent past, in particular Google Plus has changed a lot. At the same time, Google has separated out functionality that used to be part of G+, like Google Hangouts.
If you do nothing else on Google, update your “About” section.
For a business, set up your Google MyBusiness page and fill in all the information completely. Help Google by telling them the information you want the world to know about your business. Provide as many backlinks to your social channels and sites as you have available.
